In 2009, Adele graduated from Cardiff University with a first class honours degree in Applied Psychology. She then went to South Africa for a year to do missionary work with an organisation called Youth With A Mission and during that time she went to Mozambique and Swaziland. She fell in love with Africa and have since been back to visit with her Mum.
Adele currently works for her local church youth department as a full-time youth worker that involves working with teenagers in the local schools, community and within the church. Their aim is to value all young people and encourage them to be the best that they can be. They run various projects ranging from after-school clubs, talent competitions, lesson support and a monthly group for teenage girls. Adele’s passion is for working with young people with behavioural problems. In the future, Adele plans to continue studies with a counselling course, so she can help these young people further.
Adele became a Christian when she was 8 years old and her faith is very important. She loves to dance and she currently teaches a street dance class to teenage girls. Her favourite styles are street, contemporary and ballroom and Latin.
Adele is excited about this opportunity to learn from another culture, seeing different methods of youth work. She loves travelling and is really looking forward to meeting new people. Adele is keen to improve her presentation skills, which will greatly help her in her future work.
