The last few days have involved some intense travelling and interesting bus journeys but thankfully we have met some fantastic presidents, Rotarians and stayed with some brilliant hosts.
Visited
agricultural and commercial show at the showground in Kitwe, this was a busy
place full of locals, we enjoyed some wildlife at the reptile zoo and watched
some cultural dancing as well as a Kitwe version of JLS (not quite the same
though). The majority of the show was for the main agricultural and industrial companies
in Zambia to exhibit their products.
Michael
Kauzi, president of the Rotary club of Kitwe took the GSE team on tour around
the local area including the construction of his new house out in the bush near
Kalulushi.
A
vocational visit specifically for me! We visited Meltcast Engineering and
enjoyed a tour through the fabrication workshop, incredibly efficient and
organised place. Thanks to Bodwin for the visit.
Visited
St. Joseph mission at Kalalushi, a school for the deaf and met by the head
teacher Sister charity, this was an incredible place where the children were
very well behaved. The school is fully supported by the Rotary club of Kitwe
and sister clubs.
We
presented to the Rotary clubs of Kitwe, Kitwe North and Kalulushi at the Moba
Hotel, Kitwe and in return they presented the GSE team with the Zambia football
team outfits, 2XL must be a different size here as it is a bit tight on our
team captain!
Some great pictures from all of you. Good to see some genuine vocational visits. Some of the friendships you've made will be for life.
ReplyDeleteThat enormous tortoise - do you have to kiss it to turn it back to the Team Leader?? Or is he the snake??

Hi Seb & Co., looks like it's as much as you can do to keep on top of your itinerary. Doing really well, not long 'till lake rest @ Malawi! Great photos from all, hoping for some aeronautical images.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes,

Loving the building Sebobobo and the bicycle with rod brakes. Hope all is good with you all. You're missing quite a lot of rain back here in Blighty!
